About

The New York Injured Workers’ Alliance (NYIWA) seeks to include a broad range of individuals and organizations (injured workers, claimant attorneys, medical providers, union and political leaders) that are willing to take on powerful interests in Albany to protect the rights of injured workers and advocate for continued legislative improvements for those benefits.

The right to due process through the traditional administrative hearing system is the most important avenue of protection for injured workers to receive the medical and cash benefits they deserve. If an injured worker loses the absolute right to a formal hearing before a judge, then all other rights under the New York Workers’ Compensation Law are at jeopardy. The New York Injured Workers’ Alliance will use a combination of education, “grass roots advocacy”, building strategic alliances and traditional lobbying to protect this all important constitutional right.

We encourage you to join our campaign to “do the right thing” for injured workers in New York State. Our contributors reflect a wide geography - Buffalo to Long Island; New York City to Rochester; Syracuse to Albany and all points in between. We will use the latest Social Media technology, including Facebook and Twitter to get our message out to supporters. In fact, why don’t you become a fan on our Facebook Page today?!

Contributions – in any amount are welcome. Please visit our Contributor Page to make a donation to our cause and you. NYIWA is dedicated to a better future for injured workers in New York.

Finally, we want to hear your opinions on the current state of the Workers’ Compensation System and what needs fixing! Please post comments at the end of any of our blog posts for publication. We look forward to you joining our fight to protect injured workers!
